Maps and Books
With the help of Blane and the Harts, Brian has taken into care the box of maps and books that were looked after by Roy Miller. There a number of maps which are still in very good condition and only about 20 years old.
Within the box there are 2 survival bags. One is a normal Vango bag and the other is large enough for two people. The first person who says they would like one or both will get it. Contact Brian.
The box of maps raises the next question, is there anyone willing to look after it and make the contents available to members. Again contact Brian otherwise they will be disposed of
Walk Leader Mentors
During 2019 Ramblers Scotland will be offering free training to experienced walk leaders who may wish to mentor newer walk leaders.
There is to be a one-day course to be held in Wiston Lodge, Biggar which will give you a chance to brush up on some basic skills needed for mentoring.

The AGM took place on Monday 12th November at the Elphinstone in Biggar

We welcome two new members to the committee with Margaret Young and Marion McMillan stepping down and being replaced with Margaret Watson and Graham Stewart respectively.
It is now required that we all carry the "In case of emergency cards". if you have lost yours you can download one from the website

By a majority of votes the walks with dogs has been discontinued.
The spring away weekend this year will be Friday 26th April to Monday 29th April.
We will be staying at the Gilsland Hotel Hall Hotel, Cumbria. The hotel sits on the border with Northumberland just off the A69 at Gilsland Spa, the nearest main town being Haltwhistle a few miles away, it sits in 140 acres of pristine gardens with views of picturesque Cumbrian countryside. It is close to Hadrian's Wall with many associated walks.
The cost for 3 nights is £147 dinner, bed and breakfast per person for a double or twin room and £165 for a single.

There has been a number of cases where Ramblers supporters have been contacted by an individual pretending to be from Ramblers asking for sensitive personal informatio.
