 Weekends Away

Biggar Ramblers organise an away weekend every year. This May we spent 3 nights in Kendal, staying in the appropriately named Riverside Hotel. The weather was kind and we enjoyed walks direct from the hotel along the river and upto Scout Scar, as well as walks near Levens Hall and a short final walk in the grounds of Sizergh Castle. All who attended agreed that it was a most successful weekend.

Next year's weekend will be in Oban for 3 nights from 9th May.

Details have now been sent out to members. If you wish to reserve a place, please ensure that you let Josanne know, and pay your £20 deposit by the 4th of December.

 Biggar Ramblers sponsors Bizzyberry seat

On September 7th, a group of Biggar Ramblers climbed the attractive path that leads up to Bizzyberry Hill from Biggar. They stopped half way up by the bench and information board. Following an agreement to sponsor the seat, a brass plaque was fitted with the inscription 'Enjoy your walk'. For a photograph, look under 'Walk Reports'. A fuller report can be found in the October news letter.

Afterwards a 'bring a dish' supper was enjoyed by all.

An important update on phishing emails

There has been a number of cases where Ramblers supporters have been contacted by an individual pretending to be from Ramblers asking for sensitive personal information.

If you feel you have been subject to any suspicious contact, please let Ramblers know by contacting the Ramblers Services Team at

Membership@ramblers.zendesk.com or call 0207 339 8500.
