On Sunday 9th June five Biggar Ramblers joined five Tweeddale Ramblers for a joint walk over Culter Fell. The walk started from Glenkirk, near the head of the Glenholm valley. After walking a bit further up the valley to Holmes Waterhead, the group started the steep ascent to the top of Culter Fell - being so steep, several rests were required to take in and admire the wonderful views!  After stopping at the trig point for photos and to take in the 360 degree views, the walk  continued over easier terrain to Glenharvie Moss and King Bank Head, followed by a more gentle climb to Chapelgill Hill and then the final descent back down to Glenkirk. With a total ascent of over 2000 feet, this proved to be a challenging, yet rewarding walk, which everyone enjoyed, especially as it stayed dry!

It was agreed that the joint walk had been a great success, so much so that another has already been put in the diaries for later in the year.
