This was a joint walk with and led by Tweeddale Ramblers. The walk started along the Southern Upland Way (SUW) to Riskinhope Hope and continued along the base of Peniestone Knowe before  leaving the SUW to take the "path" to Ettrick Kirk (this part was particularly challenging as there was no obvious path to follow).After arriving at the church, the walk followed a minor road to Scabcleuch. It then rejoined the SUW before descending towards Riskinhope Farm, finally returning to  our cars via the Loch of the Lowes.

This was a particularly challenging 11 mile walk with driving rain throughout, a real test for all the different brands of waterproofs! Although soaked through, there was a great sense of achievement!
