On Wednesday 21 st August six Biggar Ramblers headed to Cockburnspath on the East Coast to walk the first stage of the Berwickshire Coast Path. The walk was about 9 miles on grassy cliff tops, farm tracks and quiet roads. The weather remained bright and breezy and they enjoyed panoramic views throughout. The ramblers had a detour to visit lovely Cove Harbour where they watched surfers on the sandy beach at Pease Bay and had lunch in the ruins of an ancient chapel, before ending the walk at Dowlaw. The group look forward to the next stages which will take them further down the coast to St Abbs and on to Eyemouth and Berwick.
